The Hunt For The Black Pearl
Posted by Jimmy :: Friday, August 25th, 2006 :: 8:34 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

I managed to track down The Black Pearl again tonite and got some great shots as she sat quietly moored in a protected inlet. I made sure that I got there way before the sunset this time and waited til the sun got in just the right spot then started clicking away. I got a few hundred like this. Enjoy!

Arrrrrrrggghh! It's The Black Pearl

I managed to get the inside scoop on the the whereabouts of The Black Pearl and when they'd be shooting some scenes for Pirates of The Caribbean III this week so I managed to get some decent shots earlier this evening. I got there later than I would have liked so the lighting wasn't that great but I may have another shot tomorrow night or possibly Friday night.

Here are the shots I got of The Black Pearl out in the Pacific. Enjoy!

The world's greatest domain name is finally up for sale and if you're looking for a great Christmas gift for me this would be it. Jimmy.com is finally up for sale and I've been waiting on it for years. Unfortunately the starting price is $28,000 which is a little more than I had planned on spending but if every JimmyPowell.com fan chips in we can do this! Ha-ha!

Transformers
Posted by Jimmy :: Monday, August 21st, 2006 :: 12:55 AM PST :: Comment On This Post

I am soooo stoked about this. Next July 4th is the release date of Transformers the movie which is destined to be a blockbuster. Little bits and pieces are leaking on the net and these are two that just surfaced this weekend. Pictured are Bumble bee in robot form and Optimus Prime in truck mode. Don't know why they decided to give OP flames. I hate when they do stuff like that but it won't keep me out of the theatre next July. I think this is one that me and Mike D will have to see together since he's a huge transformers fan.

Talladega Nights Ruled!

In case you couldn't tell, we love going to the movies and this weekend we saw Talladega Nights which was (in my opinion) hysterical. If you're a Will Ferrell fan then you'll Talladega Nights. I was cracking up the whole time and the outtakes at the end are worth sticking around for. Kim on the other hand wasn't impressed but she's never been a Will Ferrell fan. No biggie. Next week is her turn to pick the movie. :-)

Happy Birthday wishes going out to my beloved Kim today. It's still early in the day and she hasn't gotten her gifts yet so for now I'll just say Happy Birthday! :-)

Low Key Weekend Update

Kim had been sick with a severe cold virtually all week so we took things pretty easy this weekend while she was on the mend. We did a little bit of light shopping Friday night and watched some TV. I had to photograph an art festival Saturday afternoon but Kim felt like going out Saturday night so we went and saw Miami Vice the movie which was really good but nothing like the TV show. We spent most of Sunday afternoon laying by the pool and working on our tans and spent the rest of the night relaxing on the sofa watching a movie. And now you know...

Diary of A (Unemployed) Mad Black Woman (Part Duex)

Defeated Georgian representative (and confirmed crazy woman) Cynthia McKinney was singing the blues (literally) after losing her seat in congress last week. McKinney sang a few bars of an anti-bush song by Pink and then coyly blamed her defeat on electronic voting machines and called them a threat to democracy. I think the only people threatened by electronic voting machines are the idiots who voted for her in the first place.

There's some good news to report in the world today. The voters in Georgia finally sent Cynthia McKinney packing today as she lost her bid for re-election to Attorney Hank Johnson who was a virtual unknown 5 weeks ago. McKinney is the crazy congressional rep from Georgia who believes the Bush administration knew about 9/11 before it happened and then assaulted a congressional police office earlier this year when he had 'the nerve' to ask for her ID when he didn't recognize her. B-otch!

Weekend Update
Posted by Jimmy :: Monday, August 7th, 2006 :: 9:28 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

Not too much to report this week. We were out and about all weekend just messing around but not really doing anything significant. Just doing a little shopping, running a few errands, eating out, watching movies, recycling and doing clothes. That's what we did this weekend...enough said and I don't feel like doing a lengthy post right now.

Joke of the Week
Posted by Jimmy :: Monday, August 7th, 2006 :: 9:20 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

Here's one that literally made me laugh out loud...enjoy!

A pompous minister was seated next to a Redneck on a flight across the country. After the plane was airborne, drink orders were taken. The Redneck asked for a Jack Daniels and coke, which was brought and placed before him.

The flight attendant then asked the minister if he would like a drink. He replied in disgust, "I'd rather be savagely raped by brazen whores than let liquor touch these lips."

The Redneck immediately handed his drink back to the flight attendant and said, "Shit, me too. I didn't know we had a choice!"
