Cars Was Awesome

We
saw the movie
Cars this weekend and it was absolutely
incredible. Some of the animation look as real as if
were uhhh...you know, real. The story was really great
and had you laughing hysterically one minute and wanting
to cry at others.
Larry the Cable Guy absolutely made the movie.
He's the old rusty tow truck in the movie. I seriously
think
Pixar
is hands down the best movie studio on the planet right
now. Whether it's Finding Nemo, The Incredibles or Cars,
I'd rather see a
Pixar
movie than 90% of the movies that come out these
days. I can't wait to own
Cars on DVD!!!

Slow
Weekend...Kinda

Other than going out to dinner and seeing the movie Cars
this weekend, we didn't really do anything exciting. I
spent about 5 hours Friday night working on my company
site which is horribly out of date. Hopefully I'll have
a brand new company site up and running by the end of
the summer. I think it's going to be the greatest site
I've ever built with PHP which includes permeating the site,
breadcrumbs, flash elements and live tech chat. I'll let
you know when it's done.
We spent most of Saturday afternoon running errands,
getting groceries, etc. I spent Sunday afternoon washing
both mine and Kim's car before we had to engage in the
most dreaded of chores...laundry! I guess we shouldn't
complain seeing as how it only took us about an hour and
half to do everything, but we still dread weekends when we
have to wash clothes. Luckily we knocked it out this
weekend so that we can party and celebrate next weekend.
Word on the street is that a lot of peeps are taking
next Monday off to have a four day, 4th of July weekend
so the South Bay should really be jumping next weekend.

It's Good To Have A Pool

Normally
we take our pool for granted but now that summer has
arrived I can't seem to think of anything else. It's
nice having a pool right outside your backdoor so I
"clocked out" around 4:00 today and hopped in for about
a half hour. I got out, cooked a little dinner for Kim
and I, then went back in for another hour. It's supposed
to be even warmer on Friday so I can see Stellar Media
Group closing early. I'm thinking I may have to throw a
pool party sometime in the next few weeks. Who's game?

72 Virgins
Posted by Jimmy :: Thursday,

Comment On This Post
After Abu al-Zarqawi died he was met at the pearly gates
by George Washington. Washington immediately slapped him
across the face and yelled, "How dare you try to destroy
the nation I helped conceive!"
Patrick Henry approached, punched him in the nose and
shouted, "You wanted to end our liberties but you
failed!"
James Madison followed, kicked him in the groin and
said, "This is why I allowed our government to provide
for the common defense!"
Thomas Jefferson was next, beat al-Zarqawi with a long
cane and snarled "It was evil men like you who inspired
me to write the Declaration of Independence."
The beatings and thrashings continued for hours as
George Mason, James Monroe and 66 other early Americans
unleashed their anger on the terrorist.
As al-Zarqawi lay bleeding and writhing in pain an angel
appeared. Al-Zarqawi wept and desperately gasped "This
is not what you promised me." The angel replied, "I told
you there would be 72 Virginians waiting for you in
Heaven. What did you think I said?"

Lazy
Sunday (It's Good To Have A Pool)

Now that it's warmed up we've finally started utilizing our
pool this weekend. I managed to get about an hour of
pool time in on Saturday before we started gearing up
for the concert and I was determined to spend the better
part of today in the pool and that's just what I did.
After calling my Dad to wish him a happy Dad's day I
broke out my pool float and spend most of the afternoon
floating around in the pool working on my tan. I
literally plan to do that for the next 2 months provided
it's warm and sunny on the weekends.
Come on over...bring
beer!!!!

Kenny Chesney Concert

We
saw
Kenny Chesney in concert last night and it was
pretty awesome!! It was my first "country" concert but
it's kind of hard to call Kenny Chesney country when he
has special guests like
Uncle Kracker and (get this)
Eddie & Alex Van Halen. They came out and performed
"Jump" and "Your Really Got Me" with KC which was a huge
surprise!
Sorry you weren't there Tuti but I got it on video for
you. It's a 189mb file and pretty good quality all
things considered. I even got KC's "I Go Back" for my
mom who's a big Kenney Chesney fan.
We went with Janice & Mike, Sara & Brian and Sara's mom
and had a blast both before and during the concert.
Here's a few pics from the event...enjoy!

Friday Night Fun

We
had a pretty wild Friday night starting with a free
dinner at one of our favorite seaside restaurants. The
owner "desperately" needed to meet with me LATE Friday
afternoon so I used a little of my business muscle to
get a comped dinner for two in exchange for me seeing
him at the last minute. We got a great table right over
the ocean with the windows open and a cool breeze
blowing in. It's a great way to have dinner. We had a nice bottle of wine, shrimp cocktail,
crab alfredo, salmon, swordfish, and scallops. Power has
it's privileges sometimes. Don't worry, I don't let it
get to my head. We'll probably be at Taco Bell before
the weekend's over! Ha-ha!
After dinner, we went back to the house and got into
some loose summer clothes and opened a few more bottles of
wine. We kicked off our shoes and played darts with the
music turned up...and Kim beat me in every game!!! |

More Fall Out From
Katrina
Posted by Jimmy :: Tuesday,
June 13th, 2006 :: 9:53 PM PST ::
Comment On This Post
Just when you thought the whole Katrina fiasco was over
comes news that so far, over one billion
dollars worth of FEMA aide (given out in the form of
debit cards to those displaced by the Katrina) has been
misused to buy diamonds, porn, champagne, vacations,
nights at the strip club, lawyer fees and other items
not deemed "necessary" to human survival. As if all the
looting and pillaging that went on in the aftermath of
Katrina weren't bad enough, now all these savages get
tax-payer funded debit cards to go buy "bling-bling" and
go partying.
Sometimes even I hate America. I think ever tax paying
citizen should call the IRS and tell them they are not
paying any more taxes until all this misused money is
recovered and these two-time thieves put behind bars.

Jesus Served Me An Oreo
McFlurry

Comment On This Post
I
saw a commercial for the new Dairy Queen Blizzard
Saturday night and just had to have one but being too
lazy to drive to the other side of town, I settled for
an Oreo McFlurry from McDonald's. Being the Sabbath and
all, I guess it was only appropriate that I got served a
McFlurry by the King of Kings. "Jesus" was working the
register at the local McD and despite his poor grasp of
the English language managed to serve me a heavenly Oreo
McFlurry. Maybe next week the Pope can serve me an
Arby's beef & cheddar! |

It was another warm yet relevantly uneventful weekend
for us...but here's what we did anyway.
-
Friday Night -
Went and saw
The Omen...see previous post below.
-
Saturday -
Spent almost the entire day spring cleaning before
cooking on the grill and watching a couple movies:
Dazed & Confused and
The Family Stone
-
Sunday - Had
Sunday brunch at Billy's Deli in Torrance and then
ran around town picking some little things here and
there.
And believe it or not, we
did not go to Best Buy the whole weekend...ha-ha! |

R. Kelly Movie Star
Posted by Jimmy :: Sunday,
June 10th, 2006 :: 8:43 PM PST ::
Comment On This Post

Looks like R. Kelly is
finally going to be a movie star. Although no trial date
has been set yet, the presiding judge in his statutory
rape case will allow the public to view a tape that
allegedly shows R. Kelly having sex with and 'peeing
on' a 13 year old girl in the back of his tour bus.
Police believe the tape was made sometime between 1998
and 2000 while R. Kelly was on tour. It was discovered
several years ago at which point R. Kelley was arrested
and charged with a laundry list of offenses that would
have landed anyone else in prison for decades.
Kelly, 38, has pled not
guilty to 14 counts of rape and child pornography and
has been using his celebrity status to postpone the
trial for years while he continues to make music and
live the good life. Isn't it amazing how celebrities and
politicians get a different kind of justice than
everyday citizens.
13 year old girls should
be playing with E-Z Bake ovens...not getting peed on by
a low-life rapper like R. Kelley...on camera
none-the-less.

We Saw The Omen (666)

Comment On This Post

We saw
The Omen Friday
night and it was really good although it would have been
nice had Damien (the Devil's son) said more than 5 words
in the whole film. Other than that, I really enjoyed it
and it has one of the best decapitation scenes of any
film I've ever seen...if you're into that kind of
thing. Half the fun of seeing this movie was the
reaction of some of the Latino people in the audience. I
swear there were some big Latino guys screaming out like
little girls every time something scary happened and the
whole theatre would crack up laughing each time that
happened. Can't wait to get this on DVD and I hope they
re-make the sequels.

What A Difference A

So this post may be a little heartbreaking for some of
you gals but it is no way meant to be mean
spirited...just an observation. Like many country stars,
Kenny Chesney always wears a hat and now I know why....

Kenny
Chesney with hat... |
 |

Kenny
Chesney sans hat...big difference huh?!? |
I'm still going to enjoy
seeing him in concert cause I don't care how he
looks, he makes really great music!

Two More Weeks Till
Kenny Chesney

Nothing
makes it feel more like summer than a good outdoor
concert and in two more weeks we'll be seeing Kenny
Chesney at the Home Depot Center. From what we
understand you can take cameras so hopefully we'll get
some pics of the event. This will be my first "official"
country concert but Kenny Chesney is more pop than
country in my opinion.

Speaking
of super cool movies, the new rendering of The Omen
comes out this Tuesday which is of course 06.06.06.
Agghhhh! The end of the world! LMAO!
Wonder how many idiots will be waiting for the rapture
to happen on Tuesday? Or thinking that somewhere in
Eastern Europe the Antichrist is being born?

X-Men: The Last Stand
Posted by Jimmy :: Sunday,
June 4th, 2006 :: 9:51 PM PST ::
Comment On This Post
We
saw X3 tonite and it was really good if not
heartbreaking on so many levels. Let's just say there
are a lot of casualties in this one and it pretty much
rules out any chances for another X-Men movie. Maybe
that's why it's called "The Last Stand." I left the
movie theatre feeling a little deflated not because it
wasn't a GREAT movie but because I hated to see some of
my favorite characters get killed or have "other" things
happen to them. Having read X-Men comics as a kid I
guess I have more of an attachment to them than the
general public. I guess that also makes me a nerd!
Ha-ha!
UPDATE:
Apparently there is a extra scene at the very end of the
credits (which we didn't see) that completely changes
everything and opens the door for another X-Men movie.
So for those of you who plan on seeing the movie, stay
until the very end! I already found out what happens in
that scene thanks to the internet...still wish I'd seen
it though.
