I
can't believe it! I simply cannot believe! Chris
Daughtry got booted off Idol last night despite the fact
that he has been the best and most consistent singer
throughout the competition. Even he was surprised. He's
been the hands down favorite to make it to the final two
throughout the series and now...*sigh*...I still can't
believe it. I hope he puts together a rockin band, gets
a record deal and out sales whoever wins cause this is
just f'd up.
Photography Class,
Week 2: I Kicked Ass

This was definitely my week in photography
class...creative week. We had to take a picture
following the rule of thirds (1), an abstract involving
lines (2), a portrait following the rule of thirds (3),
and finally a leading line picture that has that "step
into it" feel (4). I know I'm there to learn but it also
felt good to hear the "eeewwws" and "aahhhs" my photos
elicited from the class and unlike last week's photos,
most of these can and will be going on the wall.
1. Landscape
photo following the rule of thirds in the
composition
2. Abstract of
my guitar featuring lines as the central
subject
3. Portrait of
Kim following the rule of thirds and reduced
background
4. Leading
line composition that has that "step into
it" feel
Next week I get knocked
off my pedestal again since it's another technical
assignment involving spot metering. I prefer creative
weeks.

Too Busy

I've been way too busy to update the website this week.
I've got a few dozen website projects underway,
photography homework to do each week, photo jobs to do
for the chamber, client updates to do, accounting and
billing to do...man, do I need some downtime. I barely
have time to watch O'Reily or Hannity to see what's
going wrong with the country this week...ha!
Check back in a few days
and hopefully I will have had some time to do some
updates. Don't forget to check out the previous post for
an amazing clip that's kept me laughing all week.
Evolution of Dance

This is probably the funniest six minutes of video you
will see this year. This guy runs thru all the dance
crazes of the last few decades and it's hysterical. I
bet this guy can dance to any style of music in any club
anywhere!
Press play to start laughing!

Photography Class,
Week 1: I Passed

We had to take and submit four photographs using
different shutter speeds this week in photography class.
One freezing action with a high shutter speed (1), one
photo showing an object in motion with a slow shutter
speed (2), and finally two pictures of the same moving
object shot at both fast and slow shutter speeds (3,4).
I don't think I'll be winning any awards with these
photos but I definitely passed week one's assignment.
(See, I can be humble!)
I should really kick ass
on next week's assignment. Among other things, we have
to shoot some landscapes following the rule of thirds
which is something I've been doing for several years
now.
1. Small wave
breaking on rocks, notice the water frozen
in the air.
2. Kim riding
her bike, notice she is in focus but the b/g
is blurred
3. Decorative
waterfall in Torrance with water frozen in
midair
4. Same
waterfall at slow speed with water blurred
for effect
