Star Wars: The JP Review

Comment On This Post
Being
the die hard Star Wars fan that I am I just had to go
see Episode III last nite...or this morning, however you
wanna look at it. The midnight shows were all booked by
the real nuts who camped out the day before so I settled
for the 1am show. Luckily they let us wait in the
theatre so I got to sit in my cushy site until the movie
finally started. Ok...enough of the formalities, here's
my review...
NO
SPOILERS (i.e., it's safe to read)
There
were many words I thought I'd be using to describe this
movie after it was
over...awesome...spectacular...amazing...and while it
was all of those, the word I would honestly choose is
SAD. Watching Anakin being turned to the dark side while
he breaks the heart of all those around him was just
plain sad. Everyone tried to save him but it was too
late. The Emperor really got to him...like we didn't
know that.
There
were so many moments in the movie that just made you
feel so bad for Anakin and particularly Padme & Obi Wan.
It's a really dark film but I guess it has to be in
order to segway into Episode IV: A New Hope.
Without a
doubt it is the best of all the Star Wars movie in spite
of how dark and sad it was. The special effects are
amazing and there's some good humor in the movie as
well. Without giving anything away, here's some of
the things I found especially entertaining;
-
You find
out how the emperor got so wrinkly...it's not from old
age.
-
You find
out how/why Anakin becomes so disfigured that he has
to be in his suit and even how he gets his name.
-
You find
out who trained the emperor to be the Sith Lord.
-
Jar Jar
Binks does not speak in this one! (Woo-Hoo)
-
You see
the beginning of the Death Star.
-
A young
General Tarkin shows up at the end.
Darth Vader
does emerge at the end of the film but not as much as I
would have liked. I was hoping he'd have a few more
lines of dialogue but he only says a few words which was
kinda disappointing.
Still a
great movie and I think I'll be seeing it again in the
next week or so and then dying for it to come out on
DVD. Now it's off to bed!
Oh yeah...Barry Powell...

And Then
There Were Two (So Long Vonzell!)

So we're
watching American Idol tonight fully expecting the
worst but luckily Vonzell was booted off leaving Carrie & Bo as the final two. I did my part to
make sure Bo & Carrie stayed cause I had all 3 of our
phone lines on redial voting for Carrie & Bo over and over
again for two solid hours. I was so overjoyed to see my
efforts pay off.
Now I
wonder...does that make me evil? >;^P
Speaking
of evil, I'm heading to the movie theatre now to see the
midnight showing of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Yes,
I'm a true Star Wars fan! |

Just when I thought the
whole subtle Spanish take-over of American culture
couldn't get any worse, I got this spam from Pizza Hut.
Notice how everything is written in both English &
Spanish. It's a sad day in America when even our spam is
bilingual.

And yes, I'll probably
order this pizza anyway...it looks yummy!

Way To Go
Newsweek

Comment On This Post
And
you thought the media was our friend! Newsweek reported
earlier this week that soldiers at Guantanamo Bay
flushed a copy of the Quran down the toilet which set of
HUGE anti-America riots throughout the Arab world
leaving at least 15 people dead. Newsweek started
backing away from the story on Sunday saying that maybe
the story wasn't true and their "anonymous source"
didn't actually see a Quran ever flushed down a toilet.
This just goes to show you how low the liberal media
will steep for ratings and they must actually want to
incite hate and violence against Americans.
While I'm all in favor of
flushing every Quran down the toilet, what good does it
do for Newsweek to report such a thing regardless of
whether it's true or not? All it does is fuel the hatred
of these ignorant people and generate more death for
everyone. It seems like the entire liberal media is
trying to portray America as the "Great Satan" that
these Muslims idiots think we are but they never seem to
report on the evils of the Islamic culture, or the
genocide in Darfar.
Way to go Newsweek...way to
help your country out! (Idiots!)

Weekend

Well,
you already know what we did on Saturday if you read the
previous post so here's what we did on Sunday...we both
got up before 10am and had an early brunch. After looking at the Sunday paper, we went for bike ride
around the neighborhood. After that, we both headed down
to Seaside Lagoon for the annual Cajun festival know as
Bayou Bash. Lots of Cajun food and music and just a fun
little event to attend. We opted for the shrimp but maybe
we'll actually try the crawfish next year...at least
they're fun to photograph. We actually went grocery
shopping later that night since we hadn't been in ages
(we eat out all the time) and believe it or not, I'm
going to bed before 12pm tonite which gives me 1 hour
and 4 minutes to shut down!
More updates and fun video
links later on Monday!
Don't be surprised if the
rest of this week is dedicated to STAR WARS! |

New Friends:
Jayson & Lisa

Jim
& Kim made some new friends this weekend and spent most
of Saturday hanging out with them in beautiful
Marina
Del Rey. Jayson has been working for me and
Stellar Media Group for nearly two months and it
quickly became obvious that we had a lot in common and
that "our girls" would probably hit it off as well.
Ironically, we introduced our girls to one another via
instant messenger and then decided to all meet up for
drinks and nachos at
Baja Cantina on Saturday.
We headed back to their
place after that where we had a few more drinks. Kim &
Lisa chatted while
Jayson
and I talked tech talk half
the night and started devising strategies for taking
over the internet! Ha! We all had a really good time and
are looking forward to spending more time with our new
friends! |

American
Idol
(Driving Us Crazy)
Posted by Jimmy: Tuesday,

Comment On This Post
American
Idol almost infuriated us last nite. First of all, Paula
Abdul is seriously incapable of developing her own
opinion. All she ever does is follow Randy's lead and
echo everything he says or at the very least, when
someone has a sucky performance, she'll just say "you're
a beautiful person" or something like that. It's not a
beauty contest or a "great person" contest...it's a
talent contest. She should be able to form her own
opinion and tell someone when they did bad or she
shouldn't be a judge.

Second issue: Vonzell
Needs To Go! She acted like a big cry baby last
night because she had to sing a country song which she
obviously didn't like. Her performance was horrible and
proved once again that she is only capable of singing in
the high range and totally sucks in the low range. Part
of being on American Idol is singing different types of
music and everyone has had to sing something they didn't
like including Carrie who's had to sing R&B even though
she's clearly a country girl. Only difference is she
didn't cry about it. She sucked it up and did a great
job. The same can't be said about Vonzell and that's why
she needs to be voted off...that and the fact she sucked
last nite.
Third
issue: I don't know what was wrong with the judges last
nite. Sure they gave her mad props on her first
performance but then they slammed her on her second and
we couldn't figure out why. She did great, wasn't
"pitchy" and showed she could sing Motown type music
while Vonzell was still backstage boo-hooing about
having to sing country. The crowd cheered wildly for her
but Randy dumped on her which meant Paula had to do the
same and well...Simon almost always has something
negative to say.
Not to worry, I pulled out
all our phones and went to work voting for her...and Bo
and Anthony so we'll see what happens tonite! |

North Korea

It's amazing how we went to
war in Iraq because they supposedly had "weapons of mass
destruction" and yet North Korea really does have them,
they admit they have them, and are essentially daring us
to do something about it. Sure, I voted for Dubya but I
can't understand for the life of me why we let North
Korea get away with this. I guess it's because they
don't have any oil.

It's
true that I don't get out of the house much and it
doesn't take much to amuse me but this truly blew me
away. This woman can pop her eyes pop out of her head/face
almost like what you used to see in cartoons. I'd give
anything to be able to do this! I would be looking at
people from across the room and doing this for no reason
other than to freak them out.
