May 19th

here! The final installment of the current trilogy is
coming out next Thursday and Episode III: Revenge of The
Sith will see the return of my personal hero and
mentor...Darth Vader! I may even go and see the midnight
showing on Wednesday night. I'm such a Stars Wars geek!

American
Idol
(Driving Us Crazy)

Comment On This Post
American
Idol almost infuriated us last nite. First of all, Paula
Abdul is seriously incapable of developing her own
opinion. All she ever does is follow Randy's lead and
echo everything he says or at the very least, when
someone has a sucky performance, she'll just say "you're
a beautiful person" or something like that. It's not a
beauty contest or a "great person" contest...it's a
talent contest. She should be able to form her own
opinion and tell someone when they did bad or she
shouldn't be a judge.

Second issue: Vonzell
Needs To Go! She acted like a big cry baby last
night because she had to sing a country song which she
obviously didn't like. Her performance was horrible and
proved once again that she is only capable of singing in
the high range and totally sucks in the low range. Part
of being on American Idol is singing different types of
music and everyone has had to sing something they didn't
like including Carrie who's had to sing R&B even though
she's clearly a country girl. Only difference is she
didn't cry about it. She sucked it up and did a great
job. The same can't be said about Vonzell and that's why
she needs to be voted off...that and the fact she sucked
last nite.
Third
issue: I don't know what was wrong with the judges last
nite. Sure they gave her mad props on her first
performance but then they slammed her on her second and
we couldn't figure out why. She did great, wasn't
"pitchy" and showed she could sing Motown type music
while Vonzell was still backstage boo-hooing about
having to sing country. The crowd cheered wildly for her
but Randy dumped on her which meant Paula had to do the
same and well...Simon almost always has something
negative to say.
Not to worry, I pulled out
all our phones and went to work voting for her...and Bo
and Anthony so we'll see what happens tonite! |

Star Wars:
Forced Alliance
(The Next Star Wars Movie?)

Breaking News: A casting call went out in Los
Angeles today for what is being billed as the "next"
Star Wars movie and I am the first person to post it on
the net believe it or not. I have a "friend" on the
inside who knows I'm a Star Wars nut and gave me a copy
of the "top secret" casting sheet earlier today. It may
be a big hoax, it may never see the light of day but if
it does, I will have the honor of being able to say I
broke it on the net first!
Remember, I have no idea if this is legit but let's hope
it is.
Here's

North Korea

It's amazing how we went to
war in Iraq because they supposedly had "weapons of mass
destruction" and yet North Korea really does have them,
they admit they have them, and are essentially daring us
to do something about it. Sure, I voted for Dubya but I
can't understand for the life of me why we let North
Korea get away with this. I guess it's because they
don't have any oil.

It's
true that I don't get out of the house much and it
doesn't take much to amuse me but this truly blew me
away. This woman can pop her eyes pop out of her head/face
almost like what you used to see in cartoons. I'd give
anything to be able to do this! I would be looking at
people from across the room and doing this for no reason
other than to freak them out.

Today
was Mother's Day but we're a long way from home so we
had Sunday brunch with Abbey
(see Abbey's Back Post
below) and her bo
Wade. Me and Wade got to talk politics (he's like me)
while the girls chatted about...well, whatever girls
chat about. LOL. It was lots of fun and we plan to be
doing more with Abbey & Wade now that they're back in
Cali.
And don't worry, we both
called our Moms to wish them Happy Mom's Day!

Abbey's

As you may recall our friend
Abbey moved away last summer for a job in DC but she
couldn't stand the cold and missed the South Bay so
much, she quit her job and moved back here. Just goes to
show that it's hard to leave this place once you get
used to it.
She got in earlier tonite
and I helped get her into her new apartment and
hopefully we'll get to spend some time with her this
weekend once she gets settled in. I know Kim is glad to
have her gal pal back!
Welcome Back Abbey!

Here's some more interesting
"stuff" to check out...
-
Scissors - Pretty soon airport security will
have more scissors than God
-
CyberTan - You can actually get a tan from
your computer screen
-
Mister Bone - Just like me, fun to play with!
;)
-
Fun Game - Addictive little game, I could only
get up to 27 seconds.
-
MOONBASE - This is totally freakin AWESOME!
(Hit F11 for better
viewing)
This is
my favorite of the week because it reminds me of girl I
used to work with at RTP in Virginia. Actually, I used
to work and she used to sleep all night but that's a
whole different post entirely. Anyway, she was an
ebonics pro and used words like bidness
(business), idn't (isn't), wadn't
(wasn't) and my personal favorite...aks
or
axe (ask).
I
remember one night she said "can I aks you a question?"
and I replied "only if I can chop you an answer." at
which point me and Shane Gravitt nearly fell out in the
floor laughing which didn't help cause she was pissed.
We couldn't look at her for a week without cracking up.
Ahh, the memories!

More Money
Than $ense

Take
a look at this sculpture. How much do you think a
sculpture like this would be worth? $1,000? $100,000?
Even $1,000,000?
Try $27,000,000!
That's right! This sculpture
entitled "Bird In Space" by Romanian artist Constantin
Brancusi (1904-1957) was found in an attic in a European
mansion last year and auctioned for a record 27mil last
night by Christie's in Manhattan, NY.
Now I'm a HUGE fan of art
but even if I had 100 billion dollars...I couldn't see
spending that amount of money on a freakin' sculpture.
Think of all the homeless people that could have a hot
meal and a warm place to stay with that money! Some
people have more money than sense.

And Then
There Were Four

Vonzell |
Scotty |
Anthony |
Carrie |
Bo |
Still
reeling from the fact that Constantine was let go last
week, we tuned into American Idol again this week to see
who was going home and luckily, America got it right
this time. Viewers sent Scotty "the body" home after
weeks of poor performances. Granted, he was a funny guy
at times but how he managed to stay longer than
Constantine is beyond belief.
So now
there are just four and it's clear who needs to go next
week...Vonzell. Sure, she can sing the high stuff like
nobody's business but she can't sing in the local vocal
range to save her life and Simon seems to be the only
one who sees that. We'll be doing our part...we'll be
voting for Bo, Carrie & Anthony next week cause we got
lots of phone lines in our house! Vonzell must go!
